    Abstract
The paradigm of providing care for “frail” older persons in nursing homes is shifting and increasing numbers of persons are receiving care in home and community-based (HCBS) settings. Social isolation is a risk for this population and computer mediated communication (CMC) is a technology which could reduce this risk.
