    Abstract
Organic thin films on biometallic alloys could serve as a precursor layer for subsequent tailored modification. In this report we demonstrate the preliminary ambient atmospheric stability of phosphonic acid organic thins films on Co-Cr alloy. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) determined the surface atomic composition after film deposition and for the time duration (14 days) of atmospheric stability. The constant presence of XPS phosphorous 'P' peak after deposition and through 14 days indicated the presence and stability of the organic films over the time course of study at ambient conditions. Similarly, atomic force microscopy (AFM) images showed presence of consistent islands of film coating over period of 14 days indicating stability of the films over 14 days.
