Frequency offset effects on Maximin and MOSTLE
Abstract
The Maximin algorithm, proposed by Dr. Torrieri and Bakhru, adaptively updates the weights of an antenna array to provide simultaneous interference suppression and beamforming in a frequency hopping (FH) communication system. The Maximin algorithm is named such because the desired signal is enhanced and the interference is suppressed simultaneously. However in this thesis, it was found that the Maximin algorithm shows poor performance under frequency offset and friendly interference, i.e., a data-modulated interference environment. In this thesis, frequency effects on the Maximin algorithm are derived analytically and verified with simulation results.
