Representation of continuous functions
Abstract
This thesis presents Kolmogorov’s solution to Hilbert’s thirteenth problem. This
solution presents that continuous functions of arbitrarily many variables may be represented
as combinations of a finite number of continuous functions of a smaller number of variables.
We also discuss the possibilities and impossibilities of improving the smoothness of the
functions in the representation.
