An experimental study of the effect of homework on student achievement in elementary algebra
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate two methods
of assignment proceedings to determine the significant difference, if any, between them. The writer wanted to determine if it were more profitable to correct mistakes in the
students’ homework on the day following an assignment or to
correct mistakes during the class period when the assignment
was made. The writer would like to determine the amount of
emphasis that should be placed upon homework since the
teacher does not know the ease or the difficulty involved by
the students in their homework.
