    Abstract
    The instrumental music program in a school should have a threefold purpose. The following are its aims and objectives: 1. to include in its program all students interested in participating 2. to teach the appreciation and enjoyment of music J. to develop appropriate musical skills for those who may choose some field of music as a profession. These objectives can best be accomplished by the use of the best music literature available.
