    Abstract
It is the purpose of this thesis to show the values of the dance band and how this group can be organized and conducted in such a way to be of musical significance to the high school instrumental music department. The dance band will be considered here as an instrumental ensemble showing how this group can share the benefits of similar ensembles. This ensemble should be organized and conducted in such a way that it will benefit the student and in turn aid the concert band.
