    Abstract
This research attempted to reduce the effect of Corrosion problem in petroleum sector by developing a new series of polymeric inhibitor and polymer nanocomposites coatings. A major aim of these studies was to synthesis a new series of hydroxy ester- amide monomers (N-(2- hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide, 4-((2-hydroxypropyl) amino)-4-oxobutyl methacrylate, 6-((2-hydroxypropyl) amino)-6-oxohexyl methacrylate and 2-((1-hydroxyethyl) carbamoyl) benzyl methacrylate), in addition to a series of ester- amide inimers (1-methacrylamidopropan-2-yl 4-(((butylthio)carbonothioyl)thio)- 4-cyanopentanoate inimer,1-(4-(methacryloyloxy)butanamido) propan-2-yl-4-(((butylthio) carbonothioyl) thio)-4-cyanopentanoate inimer (Butyramide Inimer), 1-(6-(methacryloyloxy) hexanamido)propan-2-yl-4(((butylthio) carbonothioyl) thio)- 4-cyanopentanoate inimer (Capramide Inimer) and 1-(2-((methacryloyloxy)methyl)benzamido) ethyl-4(((butylthio)carbonothioyl)thio)-4-cyanopentanoate inimer (Phthalamide Inimer). Then, the prepared monomers and inimers were polymerized using a controlled/ Living radical polymerization (CRP) by reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization (CRP-RAFT). The prepared polymers would provide new polymer nano composite coatings for petroleum pipelines based on hydroxy ester-amide type of polymers and graphene oxide material. The morphological characterizations of prepared materials were examined using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). Polyhydroxy ester-amide linear polymers were used first as a corrosion inhibitor and its composites were used as pigments for anti-corrosive coatings, and the electrochemical investigations, the protection efficiency of the prepared coatings against carbon steel corrosion was studied using electrochemical techniques which are represented asbelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements.
