Thesis (M.M.E.)-- University of Wichita, College of Fine Arts, Dept. of Music
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate what has been done and what is being done concerning piano classes in the public schools, to attempt to investigate and offer possible solutions to the problems still facing class piano in the public schools, and also to present and evaluate definite pedagogical methods which are most commonly used. This thesis is being written in the hope that it may be of some practical use in making the study of the piano available to all children who desire this form of music expression and who might not otherwise have had the opportunity.
