Abstract

Results are presented for fourteen airframes being flown in firefighting operations by USFS. In total, data from 2,856 flight files is presented for four BAe-146s, three RJ-85s, two MD-87s, three DC-10s, one CL-415, and one EC-130Q. The majority of the flights contained firefighting missions involving retardant drops. Cumulative occurrences of gust and maneuver incremental load factors per 1000 hours are presented for the overall flight. Comparisons are made with legacy heavy airtankers and MIL 8866.
