Contributions of English women novelists to the novel through the eighteenth century
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to discover the contributions
which some of the English women novelists of the
eighteenth century made to the development of the novel.
Although the form and scope of the English novel were determined
largely by the men novelists, it is evident that in
some respects the women novelists have modified and added to
the contributions of the men.
