Council for Aid to Education (CAE). Wichita State University. Fall 2019 CLA+ Results. Wichita: Wichita State University, 2020.
Abstract
CLA+ is a valuable tool that measures critical thinking and written-communication skills of students in higher
education. Institutions use CLA+ to estimate institutional and individual student growth of these essential
skills, measure the efficacy of curricular and other programs, and demonstrate individual, class, and institutional
proficiency. CLA+ results give individual students an opportunity to better understand their strengths and areas for
improvements in order to master the skills necessary for post-collegiate success. CLA+ Digital Badging gives
students who are proficient and beyond an opportunity to communicate these skills directly to employers.
CLA+ results are a tool to measure growth on these skills and determine how your institution compares to other
colleges and universities using CLA+.
Wichita State University has a freshman Total CLA+ score of 1076; this score is greater than or equal to the average
freshman score at 64% of CLA+ schools. A score of 1076 demonstrates Basic mastery of the critical-thinking and
written-communication skills measured by CLA+.
