| dc.description | Photograph(s): Named 1957 Kansas News Photographer's Queen recently was Sherry Tourtillott, Liberal Arts freshman. Miss Tourtillott, who was chosen from among candidates representing colleges, universities, and communities throughout the state, will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. in March to compete for national honors. She is active in drama, radio and formerly was assistant society editor of The Sunflower. Her sorority is Epsilon Kappa Rho. p. 1 -- Alfred Gallodoro will appear 8 p.m. Feb. 16 with the University Concert Band in the Commons auditorium. Mr. Gallodoro, the featured soloist, achieved fame from his playing of not one but three instruments: saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet. Mr. Gallodoro is remembered for his years of touring with Paul Whiteman, his recent "Omnibus” television appearance, and his own concert tours. Students will be admitted to the program on their I.D. cards. Regular admission will be $1. The instrumentalist’s musical technique and interpretations have made him a favorite with audiences, according to music critics. p. 1 | |
