Leo Carney, senior guard, was named "Jack Armstrong," and Kathy Mayes, Sorosis, was named "Wheaties' Sweetie." p. 1 -- Joe Stevens, star sophomore guard, drives for a basket in the 82-72 upset win over Houston in the Fieldhouse Saturday night. Stevens tallied 24 points to lead the Shockers in scoring until stopped by an injury late in the second half. p. 1 -- Dr. [John W.] Johnson. p. 1 -- Spring practice for football swings into view as Pete Tillman, black coat, practices with the players. Practice for the Shockers got underway last week as the squad prepares for the defense of their Missouri Valley Conference co-championship with Detroit last season. The Shockers have won or tied for the title in the last two years. According to Missouri Valley Conference rules the squad has 30 days to complete 20 practices.
