Photograph(s): Don't let death take your holiday...: Shocker killed in collision! This student was killed during the 1949 Christmas holiday vacation when his care collided with another...No, this is not a forecast for the holidays. This picture is being used now in hopes that it will not have to be shown after the vacation as fact. Two weeks of vacation are yours to enjoy, but one false move can end your holiday in the above fashion. Safety is no accident! This scene is simulated; the danger is not. p. 1 -- Last minute instruction...: Just before curtain time for the initial performance of "The Bartered Bride" last night, Prof. George Wilner, drama director for the production, is shown giving last minute pointers to a few of the leading characters. Repeat performances of the opera will be given tonight, tomorrow night, and Saturday in the Auditorium. Left to right are: Jim Fleming, Professor Wilner, and Mary Myrth Weatherwax. p. 1 -- Major visits family: Maj. John Beebe. p. 5 -- New president...: Frank M. The 1,599 students from Wichita and 493 from outside the city's trade area are not designated. This chart also shows a steady increase of attending students from this wide area. p. 7 -- Dr. John Rydjord in 1917. p. 8 -- Dribble threat...: Lee Neeham supervising as his son, Sammy, dribbles a basketball. p. 12 -- John Friedersdorf. p. 13
