Booth, Jr. recently married in Garden City, have returned from Colorado and are at home at 4351 E. Levy. Their new home, white trimmed in blue, faces the Meadowlark Golf Course. Mr. Booth, '36, associated with the Grit Printing Company, is president of the University of Wichita Alumni Association. Mrs. Booth is the former Natalie Ring, '35. p. 2 -- Jean Braly. p. 3 -- Frances Anderson. p. 3 -- Peggy Coates. p. 3 -- Florence Fitzwilliam. p. 3 -- Sarah Cope. p. 3 -- Lorraine Melcher. p. 3 -- Shocker stalwart: One of the main cogs in the intial victory of the season for Coach Ray De Hon's Shocker Frosh squad over Pratt Junior College was Ralph Volpi, 228 pound left guard, who in addition to smearing all efforts of the Jucos to penetrate his side of the line, kicked three points after touchdowns. Volpi is considered one of the best field goal kickers to grace a Shocker team in many a year. p. 4 -- Promising frosh: An unsung hero of the tough Shocker forward wall, which has been one of the features of a fine early-season record for the locals, is Kieth Doggett, massive right tackle. Doggett, who hails from Byers, Kansas, is a 220 pound junior, and is the heaviest regular on the squad. Handicapped by injuries early in the season, Doggett has now hit his stride and has been dealing out plenty of misery for Shocker opponents recently. p. 4 | |
