Photograph(s): Heads coalition: Gene Setzer, president of the Shocker coalition, announced today that the Phi Upsilon Sigma fraternity had joined the ranks of the Shocker Party. p. 1 -- Forum Chairman: Walter Tait, chairman of the student forum, announces the completion of all arrangements for the forum program this year. p. 1 -- Elliott. p. 2 -- Amsden to Iowa: Henry Burns Amsden, '39, will return to the University of Iowa next week to start work on his Ph.D. degree in philosophy. Mr. Amsden received his masters degree this spring and wrote his thesis on "The Political Philosophies of Adolph Hitler and Neville Chamberlain." While attending the university Mr. Amsden was active in campus affairs. He was one of the founders of the Student Forum and was president of Alpha Gamma Gamma during his senior year. p. 2 -- Luncheon chairman: Dr. F. Wesley Park, formerly of the U.S. Immigration Service, who will have charge of the program at the Alumni Association luncheon this week. p. 2 -- Whock President: Whock Club president, Jack Coleman, who with Peggy Coates, Wheaties president, is planning the dance the two organizations will jointly sponsor tomorrow evening. p. 3 -- President of Wheaties: Peggy Coates, president of Wheaties, who is in charge of all arrangements for that organization's dance tomorrow night. p. 3 -- Giles reaches for high one: Herschel Giles, veteran Shocker wingman, is pictured as he is about to haul down a long pass during one of the pre-season practice sessions which are whipping the Shockers into shape for their opening game of the season against the University of Dayton, Sept. 27. Giles is one of Coach Al Gebert's chief offensive and defensive threats and has won wide acclaim from teammates, spectators during his two years as a Shocker regular. p. 4
