Abstract
The Report is organized around the five review criteria. Introduction includes a brief History/Profile of Wichita State University
and the university's responses to the concerns raised in the last (1987) NCA review.
Next, there is one section devoted to each criterion in chapter two, Criteria Narrative.
These sections each include an overview and a summary of conclusions reached by the
subcommittee assigned to that criterion. The Summary, chapter three, outlines the major findings of the Report. Following the body of the Report are appendices containing
supplemental information.

This Self Study Report is dedicated to Dr. Michael Tilford. At the time of his death in November 1996, he was the co-coordinator of the NCA Self Study, the dean of
the Graduate School, an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Associate
Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Wichita State University.
