Abstract
Art, like morality, consists of drawing the line somewhere. But when is a line or a group
of lines elevated to the realm of art? When is a person who draws these lines called an
artist? Does only man have art, or, is art possible among other animals? Is there a
basic aesthetic sense which permeates all life? This paper will discuss these questions
while exploring the concept of the biology of art.
