Abstract
The Field of Investigation
The work, as originally planned, was not intended to include investigation of the effect of humidity. There were two reasons for this; first, the apparatus used had been designed only with a view to the study of temperature relationships to the various life stages of the codling-moth; second, that the conclusions of earlier workers in this field (Glenn, 1922, and Shelford, 1927) indicated that humidity exercised a very limited effect upon development.
