Description
Newspaper clipping with handwritten note on the side stating ''Synopsis of laws passed by the Know-Nothing Legislature of Massachusetts in 1853 to nullify fugitive slave law.'' The article spells out the abrogation of the fugitive slave law by providing ''every alleged fugitive entitlement to the benefit of the writ of habeas corpus'' and harsh penalities to whom ever issues a warrant or grants any certificate under the fugitive slave law.
