Abstract
Here we study bandwidth efficiency by understanding the relationship between signal attenuation
and adaptive code modulation (ACM) schemes in Digital Video Broadcasting-Satellite
Second Generation (DVB-S2). Then we apply the measured W/V band channel attenuation
cumulative distribution function to find the bandwidth efficiency of the channel. In the DVBS2
model, we utilize the modulation schemes quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK), 8-ary
phase-shift keying (8PSK), 16-ary Amplitude phase-shift keying (16APSK), 32-ary amplitude
phase-shift keying (32APSK), forward error-correction coding, (FEC) Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem
(BCH), and low-density parity-check (LDPC) code.
