Minutes: Summary of action: Proposed committee assignments from Rules Committee were approved by verbal vote -- Approval of the following motion by a vote of 29-4-1: In the case of both mandatory and non-mandatory reviews for tenure and promotion Associate Professor, candidates must meet the criteria for tenure and promotion as established in university policy. A favorable recommendation for Tenure automatically carries a favorable recommendation for promotion to Associate Professor. A motion put this change to University Tenure and Promotion policy 4.15 to general faculty for endorsement was approved -- (President's report): General Education Revisions Committee / Bill Hendry -- Kathy Hull’s memorial service will be March 31 -- (KBOR update): Amicus Curae brief by SGA’s - press release -- Board of Regents resolution: Higher education funding (linked on Senate web page) -- News article on K-12 funding report (linked on Senate web page) -- Discussion of appropriate level of faculty-student relationships: Board does not have a policy and wants to make sure institutions have up-to-date policies -- Senate Bill 340 on free speech (news article) similar to bills being looked at in several states.
