Description
''The Bird Leaflet,'' edited by George T. Angell, president of the American Humane Education Society of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, contains several short editorials and essays against the use of bird feathers for fashion. These include ''Where did the custom come from?,'' ''The Birds on the Hats,'' ''The Use of Arsenic,'' ''Christianity and Millinery,'' ''From Fairy Story,'' and ''The Badge of Cruelty.'' There is also a short essay regarding ''St. Francis of Assisi and the Birds'' and a short poem by Elizabeth Freeland titled ''The Slaughter of the Innocents.''
