Abstract
The purpose of this paper is threefold:
(1) to discuss some fundamental results concerning extensions
of finite groups;
(2) to discuss some fundamental results concerning projective
representations of finite groups;
(3) to point out similarities between certain concepts in
the theory of group extensions and that of projective
representations.
