Description
Photographic postcard of the "Aloha," a Breese-Wilde 5 monoplane aircraft likely at Oakland Airport, starting point for Dole Air Race. Flown by Martin Jensen and navigator Paul Henry Schlüter, it arrived in Honolulu after the Woolaroc with a total fight time of 28 hours and 16 minutes, winning the second place prize of $10,000. Handwritten on front: "Martin Jensen. 2nd Prize. Bronte, Navigator" [identification of navigator incorrect].
