Abstract
This chapter analyzes depictions of protagonists' coming out in 12 Lambda Literary Award Winners (1992-2006) in the young adult literature category. Depictions included coming out to others, coming out to oneself, showing empathy for others in the coming out process, and stories in which coming out is not the problem.
