Description
Park describes to his sister Sarah life and conditions in Fort Hays and adjoining Hays. He reports a triple murder at a saloon in Hays and adds "that won't amount to much as it is soon forgotten. A man's life is not worth a cent out here." He marvels at the abundance of deer, buffalo, turkey, antelope and elk. He also writes about weather, family and clothing and asks about several women back home in Higginsport, Ohio.
