Description
Image shows book's title page. The author Harraden claims that he abandoned classical studies for hypnotism: "Rather would I teach hypnotism to the masses than classical lore to the sons of millionaires"(p. 13).
He gives instructions for staging exhibitions, including examples of advertising flyers, speeches suitable for different audiences, and antics one may induce hypnotized subjects to perform: picking imaginary flowers, drinking castor oil under the impression that it is cocoa, killing imaginary roaches. Harraden maintains, however, that the main value in mastering hypnosis is the power one gains over others. Through Harraden's methods, one may correct the weaknesses and bad habits of friends and family and win wealth and success for oneself.
