Description
A promissory notes and bond notes to the sheriff of St. Louis. There is also a certificate from William C. C. Claiborne, governor of the Territory of Orleans, naming P. Colsson as Justice of the Peace of New Orleans dated May 13, 1809, a bond note dated June 2, 1809 stating that George Drouillard (scout of the Lewis and Clark Expedition) and Pierre Menard (Missouri Fur Company) owed money to the sheriff of St. Louis, and a law suit dated August 9, 1809 of Franois Duchouquit against Manuel Lisa (prominent fur trader).
