Description
This document is a transcription of the Apollo 11 Recovery Coordinator Logbook #4. The information "passed" from party to party includes the mundane to the fine details of President Nixon's arrival to greet the astronauts upon their return from the moon in addition to the plans to ensure containment of any returning "moon germs" and to recover the returning Apollo command module, the Columbia, from the Pacific Ocean. Among those making entries in the logbook were recovery coordinators Harold E. Granger, Jerry E. Hoisington and John E. Hoover. The entries begin July 11th and continue through July 26, 1969. Acronyms and abbreviations are used throughout the logbook. When known, the spelled-out version is presented inside brackets at the first appearance of the shortened version. Corrections to names and spelling are inside brackets.
