Abstract
THE FIGURE: A SEARCH FOR FORM
My graduate exhibition and project report will illustrate how the human figure has been a dominant aspect in my search for form.
The exhibition will consist of oil paintings, drawings and prints completed during the past two years.
The project report will synthesize the visual ideas expressed in the exhibition. The exhibition will illustrate the use of the figure as expressive form. It will also illustrate my search for the essence of the human drama. That drama is contained in the inherent mysteriousness of the figure in relation to its surroundings. In order to achieve this essence my works will show a gradual change, from a two dimensional to a more three dimensional presentation. The works will be available to my committee prior to the exhibition.
