Description
Undated two-sided broadside produced and circulated by Citizens' Committee before special election held April 24, 1926, in which Wichita’s citizens voted in favor of accepting Fairmount College as a gift and transforming it into the Municipal University of Wichita. First side includes illustration showing representation of Wichita facing signs pointing to ballot choices: "Yes" vote depicted as leading to smooth "upward climb" labeled Progress, while "no" shown as curving, narrowing and rocky path heading "downward toward mediocrity." Persuasive text on second side urges voting in the affirmative.
