Wichita State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC-NCA. The University's last comprehensive accreditation evaluation was during the 2016-17 academic year. A model of WSU accreditation called Open Pathway, which seeks to offer greater value to institutions and greater credibility to the public in its quality assurance

This collection includes Assurance Argument report prepared by an HLC Workgroup and submitted to the accreditor on September 12, 2016,. The report was reviewed by the HLC Team visited campus on October 10-11, 2016. The Institutional Actions Council of the HLC confirmed the continued accreditation of Wichita State University. The next Reaffirmation of Accreditation visit will be in 2026-27.
