    Social control by subsistence patterns in sub-Saharan Africa

    In this paper, author describes the mechanisms of social control found in two agricultural, two pastoral, and two hunting and gathering societies in Africa and makes an attempt to discover whether or not there exists any appreciable amount of correlation between the subsistence pattern and the types of mechanisms used.
