Item A brief note on second-order community satisfaction factors for two sub-communities in Istanbul, Turkey(Wichita State University, Department of Psychology, 1990) Bardo, John W.; Dökmeci, Vedia F.First-order Community Satisfaction factors obtained for a sample of residents of Istanbul, Turkey, were subjected to second-order factor analysis; a solution with two oblique factors ("General Satisfaction" and "Excitement/Dullness") resulted. Findings were compared to those of previous studies and results were discussed with regard to their implications for theories of community satisfaction.Item A factor analysis of community satisfaction variables in a midwestern city(Wichita State University, Department of Psychology, 1978) Bardo, John W.; Hughey, Joseph (Joseph Bernard)Community satisfaction in a midwestern city was examined through factor analysis; an oblique solution with nine factors resulted. Unlike previous research employing the same instruments and analytic techniques, distinctions between physical and social dimensions of community were unclear. However, certain conceptually similar physical and social dimensions of community were obtained in these studies. These data suggest that some dimensions of community satisfaction may be generalizable, while other are more situationally specific. Some implications of these findings, especially for the fields of urban planning and environmental social psychology are also discussed.Item A second order factor analysis of community satisfaction in a British New Town(Wichita State University, Department of Psychology, 1976) Bardo, John W.; Newton, R. D.First-order community satisfaction factors derived in an analysis of data from a British New Town were subjected to secondary factor analysis; an oblique solution with five factors resulted. The data suggest several broad categories of variables that may affect community satisfaction as well as certain other possible analyses based on community comparisons.Item Dimensions of community satisfaction in a British New Town(Wichita State University, Department. of Psychology, 1976) Bardo, John W.Community satisfaction in a British New Town was examined through factor analysis; an oblique solution with nine factors resulted. Seven factors were social-interactional and two were physical. The data suggest that residents' perceptions of their community were based on both social and physical considerations and that the two dimensions are moderately intercorrelated.Item Housing policy for the elderly: A scientific and federal myopia(Wichita State University, 1980-01) Bardo, John W.; Lamb, David
