dc.description.abstract The purpose of this experiment is to determine cross sections and charged kaon and pion production ratios of various targets. Thin targets include liquid hydrogen, beryllium, carbon, aluminum, copper, silver, bismuth, and uranium. A thick target, NuMI (carbon), was also used. These production ratios are determined by cross section between the presented targets and incident kaon+/-, pion+/-, and proton+/- beams at momenta ranging from 5 to 120GeV/c. Incident beams are produced by a primary proton beam of 120GeV/c from the Main Injector at Fermilab. Produced particles are tracked and identified in the MIPP detector using a TPC and wire chambers, time of flight, Cherenkov and RICH detectors, and calorimeters. The current cross section results are on the same magnitude as expected from comparison to previous experiments. en_US
